Three days ago I adopted a wild baby rabbit which was found with hypothermia and shock near my home. Because they are pests here the RSPCA gave me the option to keep him because they would just have to put him down.
The problem is that we are having trouble getting him to eat anything. We have tried rabbit mix from the pet shop, pet milk (a fairly generic one that is suitable for kittens and puppies), pet milk with honey, grated carrot, broccoli, grass, dandelion leaves, clover leaves and flowers, and grapes. He doesn%26#039;t seem to be interested in anything - he will have a little nibble at the grass, clover flowers and dandelion but just nibbles off a tiny piece, chews it up but then doesn%26#039;t want anything else.
He is doing wees and a small amount of poos but I%26#039;m getting worried that he is going to starve himself to death! He is very lively, and appears happy and curious. He is quite young (the vet at RSPCA though about 4 wks old) but has thick fur and eyes open so probably weaned.
How can I encourage my baby rabbit to eat?
Try this site out as it is the best one IMO on the net for rabbit information.
www.rabbit.org
Unfortunately, I know a lot of people don%26#039;t recommend having wild rabbits as pets since they are very different than domesticated pet rabbits you would see in a pet store. In your case though, I would%26#039;ve done the same thing instead of having the poor thing put down. The site has very useful information and I hope it helps :)
Reply:Just continue variations and hopefully you will find something he likes. Try finding stuff close to where you found him also as he may be more succeptable to liking it from having it before. I have no experience with rabbits so this is the best I can help. I hope he doesn%26#039;t die. Good luck.
Reply:Oh yeah baby rabbit is fine to eat too. There%26#039;s a lot of good rabbit stew recipes online.
Reply:just leave it in a stress free little container where he feels safe don%26#039;t watch it because this might make it nervous leave a bowl of finlet chopped carrot in their it will eat after it has a sleep.
Reply:If you insist on trying to save this feral animal that has decimated our country,,, then fine.. Its a wild animal that has no connection hardly at all to our domesticated rabbits. It needs to be in a good sized enclosure in a very quiet area of your yard, with minimal human contact and lots of natural grasses, bland hay plenty of wood etc for its teeth. If the feral thing survives and gains strength, please have it de-sexed, for your own safety and your other pets, have it tested for deseases such as mixo(introduced to eradicate this pest) No doubt, if it survives it will escape eventually. I have seen the ground collapse under house foundations because of this animals burrows in our country. They breed much faster than our natural animals and compete with them for food. It%26#039;s not likely to survive captivity, please leave it with your vet.
Reply:i have a rabbit and when i got it she wouldn%26#039;t eat anything. i tried everything just like you. but then i realized that she wouldn%26#039;t eat anything while i was there because she was too curious to see what i was and to jump on my lap. when i left, she would eat. i recommend getting alfalfa or timothy hay. rabbits need these in order to digest thier food right and also you can get very organic hay that i think a wild rabbit won%26#039;t mind eating. keep feeding him the fresh stuff too. i hope i helped.. !!

I need a UNIQUE baby shower theme for a UNIQUE mom to be.?
So, I am planning a baby shower for my mother who is having a baby girl. The dilema is my mom is not very girly and her girlfriend (who will be the baby%26#039;s other mommy-but is not pregnant) is girly and I want them both to feel like their personal tastes are expressed in the shower. Also, I want an idea that has not been done to death (ex: a star is born, teddy bears, noah%26#039;s ark, tea party, flowers, ducks, angels, ANY cartoon character, think pink, nursey rhymes etc.) They all seem frumpy and played out. Trouble is, I can%26#039;t think of anything better!
Any Suggestion?
Thanks in Advance :)
I need a UNIQUE baby shower theme for a UNIQUE mom to be.?
So you should go with a safari theme.....giraffes, zebras, lions, hippos, etc. Make it as girly as you want....with flowers wrapped in animal-print ribbon. THE ANIMAL PRINT items is what will make this unique and distinctive!!
Have a diaper cake made as a centerpiece. I can picture a cake with zebra ribbon and RED roses on the top. A onesie that says %26quot;Wild Thing%26quot;!!
Another great theme would be %26quot;Sleepytime Hours%26quot;. You could do moons and stars and feature GREAT storybooks. Ask each guest to bring their favorite storybook from THEIR childhood to start baby%26#039;s collection. Decorate with images from GOODNIGHT MOON, WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE, RUNAWAY BUNNY, DR. SEUSS, ETC. Once again....get a diaper cake centerpiece. THIS one would be in the storybook theme....with a plush Cat In The Hat Topper and a Onesie that says: %26quot;And Now%26quot;, cried Max, %26quot;Let the wild rumpus begin!%26quot; (From Where the Wild Things Are).
That%26#039;s my ten cents.....
I am including links to my diaper cake website as well as to my page off that site that has UNIQUE and SENTIMENTAL activities at the shower. Maybe they can help you out!!
Have fun planning....but don%26#039;t think yourself into stress. The point of the shower is to celebrate baby....and as long as the mamas show up most of the work will already be done!!
Reply:There was no %26quot;theme%26quot; per say at my baby shower and who cares? The gifts were great -- we got so many useful and nice things and the food was excellent (Lebanese, my favorite). It was great having all my friends and family together.
The invitations had a pink bunny on them which matched the pink bunny on the cake and on the favor bags, but other than that, the party%26#039;s theme was %26quot;BABY SHOWER.%26quot; There were games and prizes and great food.
Are you sure you are not overthinking this?
Reply:don%26#039;t do a character theme, just pick a color scheme and stick with it throughout the table ware and decor. I think baby showers are generally really tacky, but they don%26#039;t have to be. use earth-tones like grass green, reds, yellow, etc. bring in a lot of fresh flowers and use patterned napkins from ikea - they have a ton of cute stuff like that! you could even give them each a foot bath and/or foot massage as part of the activities at the shower. There are tons of word games online that are easy to print out so you don%26#039;t have to play %26quot;guess the babyfood flavor%26quot; yuk!
Reply:well i can think of a couple of things:
you can always make a %26quot;baby in a bubble%26quot; baby shower, with bubbles everywhere, in decoration and games, and you can give people bubble bottles.... or you can have an colorful-all-original mexican party with piƱatas ad all, or.......you can do a %26quot;costume party%26quot; baby shower, where people have to go dressed as the way they think the future baby will look like or will work in......
my two baby showers%26#039; themes were tropical fruits and %26quot;the jungle%26quot;, and they were a lot of fun as you might guess....
so Good Luck!
Reply:here%26#039;s a theme - how about ALIENS or PARASITES? to me, that%26#039;s what baby%26#039;s being born are like! ;)
Reply:How about monochromatic? You choose just one color (since you said she isn%26#039;t super girly, let%26#039;s take purple for an example.) All you do is buy all your decorations in different shades of purple (or whatever.) So your cups, plates, streamers, helium balloons, tablecloths, etc. would all be a shade of purple that is a little different. This is too easy because the challenge is finding all that stuff that matches perfectly - all different shades of one color are easy to find, and the finished result is *sharp.* It%26#039;s also polished and modern - you will get compliments.
Reply:Why not just a summer garden-party theme? You could have some flowers and some veggies or plants and croquet and maybe some other sports for decorations. If they have decorated or are starting to decorate the nursery, continue some of that theme to the shower. Or instead of Noah%26#039;s ark, how about just animals. I have two boys and am expecting a third in the next 4-6 weeks and no matter how trite would have loved massive amounts of pink, tea party or ballerina stuff if I was having a girl. Even the least girly mom sometimes likes to have the over-the-top pink-fest. You only get this chance once (per kid).
Reply:I had a masquerade themed shower. It was so much fun and it was unique. Everyone dressed up and we all made our own mask. We had carnival style foods and played all these unique games. Just an idea. Good luck!
Reply:ummm...how about a cinderella theme...the gifts can come out on a carrige!!!
Reply:Baby shower theme for 2 mom%26#039;s. Wow that could be tough.
Here are some of the ideas I found:
Nine months pregnant
We invited the guests to come %26quot;nine months pregnant%26quot; (stuffed with pillows, etc.) so the about-to-pop mother-to-be wouldn%26#039;t feel physically out of place. It was a co-ed shower, so even the men stuffed their shirts to be %26quot;with child%26quot;! The dressing up made for a nice icebreaker since all of the guests didn%26#039;t know each other beforehand and created a very fun, relaxed atmosphere.

Layette party
Hang a clothesline in the room. Have guests arrive before the guest of honor and bring an item from the layette or an article of clothing for the baby and hang it from the clothesline. When the mom-to-be walks in, she%26#039;ll be delighted. She can also take the clothesline and clothes pins for her own personal use.

Tea party
My sisters-in-law and two friends threw a surprise tea party baby shower for me. They made fresh flower centerpieces for the tables. They borrowed teapots, plates, and cups from a relative and placed a set on each table. My theme was teddy bears, so they borrowed bears and set them all around the room. All the tables were covered with fancy tablecloths and guests were asked to dress up. The menu started with assorted teas, scones, etc. The main menu was turkey on a croissant, fresh fruit slices, and a salad. People are still talking about the shower!

I wish your mom the best of luck!
Reply:There is a cute one on http://www.rosemarycompany.com it is called pea in a pod.
Reply:Hmm, why does there have to be a theme? What about just plain old %26quot;Congratulations! Welcome new baby!%26quot; Then you can decorate however you want to and it won%26#039;t be played out or overused... it%26#039;ll be unique to their own special tastes, no?
Reply:I would try an undersea theme. You can do up the tables and decorations in blue and green (not too girly, right?) but you could have flowery table pieces and mermaid decorations to girl it up a bit.

Nicole richie had her baby!!!?
heres the details:
Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have welcomed a baby girl!
Harlow Winter Kate Madden was born Friday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A.
She weighed 6 lbs., 7 oz.
A pal was spotted walking into her room with a giant bundle of pink and white balloons, flowers and a stuffed black and white horse.
As Usmagazine.com reported exclusively, she arrived at the hospital late Thursday. Her parents arrived Friday as she went into labor.
Madden%26#039;s brother Benji and his girlfriend Sophie Monk were also at the hospital.
In November, Richie said they could not agree on a baby name. %26quot;I figure I%26#039;ll be in the hospital for at least a day, so I%26#039;ll figure it out then,%26quot; she told Access Hollywood. In the same interview, Richie indicated the couple would wed %26quot;eventually.%26quot;
Earlier that month, Richie celebrated her pregnancy with a Wizard of Oz-themed baby shower, attended by Lauren Conrad, among other guests.

Should I be worried about my flowers for tonight?
I have baby wildflowers and snapdragons that I had transplanted out side that are now getting their secondary leaves in. They have been alright when temperatures dropped into the 40%26#039;s at night but now there is talk of sleet tonight and temperatures falling into the 30%26#039;s. I have all my flowers covered with little dirt cups. Will they be alright?
Should I be worried about my flowers for tonight?
Unless you have anything that is really frost-sensitive like impatiens or African marigolds, you don%26#039;t need to worry. Most flower plants can take cold weather without damage. Wildflowers and snapdragons will be fine. After all, wild flowers are wild and have to survive everything Mother Nature throws at them.
Reply:A good night%26#039;s sleep is important. Have a warm cup of Ovaltine and go to bed. Your flowers will be just fine.
They can be more hardy than you think.
Reply:As long as there is no wind to knock the cups over, they should be fine. You could cover with a sheet, just to be safe.
Reply:don%26#039;t worry!

Whats a good gift for new mom and baby?
My good friend just had her baby last night and I am going to go see her and her new little girl this afternoon. What is something I can bring to her at the hospital, other than flowers since Valentines is tomorrow. What is something I can get for her, not the baby (I already have something for baby)?
Whats a good gift for new mom and baby?
If she is breastfeeding, a nursing gown would be wonderful.
A great book. If she is a new mom....... Chicken soup for a new moms soul would be great.
A boppy.
Her favorite lotion, adult smell.
A new movie, for when she is up in the middle of the night.
Hope something helps.
Reply:well if she is staying at the hospital long time, give her magizens, if not then body wash, bubble bath, a new pair of pajamas(silk) she is gona want to feel confortable. a gift certifacte to her favorite resurant so she will not have to cook.
Reply:A gift certificate for a massage or new hair cut.......i know thats what i would like!! After all that she needs to be pampered and to feel pretty again. It will also help with any post partum problems.
Reply:One of my friends arranged for meals to be provided for my family for a month so that I could go home with the baby and not have to stress about cooking dinner. Every day there was either a meal frozen in the freezer or one was dropped off. All of my friends alternated days and it was great! She took it upon herself to remind people of their dates and we%26#039;ve turned it into a gift we all give to each other whenever a new baby is born. It was by far the best gift I received!
Reply:Flowers this time of the year are overpriced and under quality, so here%26#039;s a great idea: Go to Bath and Body (or evenTraget or Walmart)and pick up some bath crystals, some matching lotion, a pumice stone, red (or pink) nail polish, and a few tea bags and a couple of pieces of candy and make it into a great %26quot;getaway%26quot; basket. You can literally put them in a basket (also at walmart) or just in a nice gift bag with tissue. She will really use it and thank you from the bottom of her heart.
Reply:A gift certificate to a massage for her and the baby. Check with your local hospital or midwifery clinic they always have names available.
Reply:Love these answers you got some good ones. I love the meals idea, massage or something personal for her it%26#039;s always for the baby. Depending on how close oyu are and what oyu want ot spend.
My favorite gift was a memory book not a baby book but its called A Mothers Memories to her Child. It is something she will have when I%26#039;m gone.
Reply:I just bought my best friend a beautiful sterling silver necklace from www.mommasjewels.com. These are the coolest necklaces I have seen, they have a teething ring built in, but you would never know it (they are beautiful!!!). My friend and her baby absolutely love it. I didn%26#039;t even know anything like this existed until I saw it on a website call coolmompicks. You can%26#039;t miss with this.
Reply:well my mother just had a baby in January. i think a good gift for the mother would be something like clothes or something for the baby so she doesn%26#039;t have to go to the store to get anything. trust me i know!
Reply:maybe there
Reply:body and bath stuff or a gift certificate for a day at the spa
Reply:New moms often recieve gifts for baby, maybe she would like a shampoo gift set, make-up gift certifiate from Sephora, a gitft certificate for a massage, or better yet a card from you saying you%26#039;ll babysit whenever she%26#039;s ready for a night out alone with hubby or partner. As a mom myself I would of loved that ! Good Luck

Good Luck
Reply:Massage gift certificate

So I am doing these for the bridemaid flowers, can I do this for my bouqet?
Bridemaid flowers:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/flowersbyme...
Bridemaid dresses: creme and bronze (creme sash)
The color of the flowers in the bridemaid hands I would like to do for mine:
http://www.projectwedding.com/photo/list...
Would that be ok??
If not any other ideas: I have roses and stephonios and baby%26#039;s breath.
So I am doing these for the bridemaid flowers, can I do this for my bouqet?
I like the colors of the second picture, and I think that would go great with what your bridesmaids have.
Reply:That would look fine, although there%26#039;s not much color there.
My bridesmaid%26#039;s bouquets were smaller versions of mine.
Reply:Of course you can do whatever you want and I think it will be great!! I think it looks better when the bridesmaids are completely different from the bride. I did mine as round bouquets for the bridesmaids and then for mine I did a cascading bouquet and used different colors. I think this will look awesome!! Congratulations!!
Reply:I think you have great taste!! I LOVE the hydrangeas! :)

Should I wear a milky pink or a baby blue dress to prom?
For my milky pink tube top dress, it looks somewhat plain, but it gives off this elegant look to it. Right under my chest, there will be some beads there, and from there, there is another layer, that goes up and wrap around my neck, turning it into a scarf.
Or...my baby blue tube top dress that gives off a princessy feel to it. It has two flowers attached to a thin strap that leads to a choker on my neck. The flowers are on the left side of the body. And on the top half, it has lines going across like this....
____. _____.______
____. _____.______
____. _____.______
____. _____.______ from the top to bottom with sparkly beads on it. ON the bottom half, its plain except there are flowers spread out here and there.
I love both dresses, and still can%26#039;t figure out which to wear.
And I dont know what kind of jewelry to wear with the dresses. Also, since both dresses are light-colored, is eyeliner necessary?
Should I wear a milky pink or a baby blue dress to prom?
you describe the dresses thoroughly enough, but what about you? are you pale or tan? blonde or brunette? eye color? these things play a big role in the right color for you to wear.
but if judging solely from the dress description, i would say go with the blue. the ruching that you talk about on the top half usually looks flattering on any body type, and it sounds a lot more formal than your pink one - personally, i think it%26#039;s a little plain...you want to stand out at prom!
as for jewelry, since the blue one already has something around the neck, simply go for big earrings, added with either a bracelet OR a ring (please not both, dont overdo). and i%26#039;d recommend hair up so it won%26#039;t cover up the flower choker.
Reply:you should wear the baby blue dress cuz it gives of this reely
%26lt;princesssy feel%26gt; and its prom ppl so get jazzy and i dont thin u shud wear eyeliner cuz it looks better with hard cloz
and wear stuff that matches ur dress like...figure this out urself
Reply:baby blue its always a prom favorite milky pink is more for a formal, and wear a choker with ur tube top dress it makes u look more sexy and yes!! use eyeliner, with nice frosty eyeshadow color. and make sure its very black eyeliner and on the bottom eyelid use a nice blue eyeliner it will bring out ur eyes even more
Reply:which colour looks better on your skin? we are all either a spring, summer, Autumn or winter and different colours either enhance or make us look worse. some colours will hide little imperfections on your face while others will make them more obvious. you will want the photos to look good aswell. so take a photo of yourself in both dresses in the same light. you might find that one looks better. if you have blue eyes the blue dress might make them look brighter, but maybe if you have fair skin the pink will make you look bronzed. just experiment. best of luck. hope you enjoy the night xo
Reply:the pink and if you are going to get pictures you will need eyeliner.
Reply:The blue one sounds very suitable for a prom , because you are suppose to feel special and like a princess. I personally would go with the blue the pink sounds good if you are going on a date or out for tea.

Reply:Do you have a date? That would be one thing to consider helping to make your decision. Depending on what color shirt your date is wearing and how that will match?
If you don%26#039;t have a date, then I would next decide by what accessories (necklaces, shoes, bracelets, etc.) you have for each dress? If you have some cute accessories for one, but not the other that could help you decide.
Also, which one is more comfortable to dance in? If you plan on dancing, or sitting, or both you may want to choose the dress that best accomodates your activities for that evening. You don%26#039;t want to rip your dress from dancing too much (happened to me at prom!).
Another thing you might consider, if you have a digital camera; take pictures of you in each dress. Then you can really see what they look like from the camera%26#039;s point of view.
Just some suggestions. Hope these help!
Reply:I%26#039;d go with the baby blue one. That sounds so cool!
Reply:i like the way the pink one sounds, and as for makeup, i think a little eyeliner wont, hurt. definately a light pink eyeshadow and a good mascara. For jewelry i suggest a silver necklace, and maybe a pair of dangling earings. What color heels are u wearing?
